40 years of Tirage
A masterclass like no other
Situated on the same picturesque property as the Bay of Fires cellar door, House of Arras offers a diverse range of innovative experiences, taking guests beyond the cellar door to discover the secrets of Tasmania’s rich terroir that go into crafting world-class wine.
A visit to the House of Arras is a sensory and intellectual immersion into Tasmania’s fascinating wine history, with masterclasses, tutored tastings, and an unforgettable wildlife stroll through the vineyards.
House of Arras came into fruition in 1995, almost ten years after Ed Carr embarked on a journey to craft an exceptional Australian sparkling wine. In his search for the ideal vineyard sites, Ed discovered Tasmania’s cool climate and maritime influences, perfect conditions for slow, consistent fruit development.
The name ‘Arras’ translates to ‘rich tapestry’, reflecting the rich, diverse vineyards throughout Tasmania that contribute to the crafting of House of Arras wines. Each of the six pristine vineyard areas embody varying terroir, from inland to coastal, with each vineyard specially managed to create a specific style of grape. The ancient soils of Tasmania contribute to the complexity of flavour and character found within House of Arras wines.
This diverse region produces high-quality premium wine and gourmet food in a pristine and natural environment. The ancient forests, craggy peaks, highland lakes, pure white beaches, towering sea cliffs and quaint towns throughout Tasmania create unforgettable food and wine experiences.
